A very corporate Happy Birthday

Dear Friend,

Last week was the first birthday of Citizens United. The Supreme Court’s ruling has ushered in a new kind of politics: the politics of undisclosed corporate money. For the past year we’ve watched Karl Rove and his shady GOP corporate allies exploit this ruling, spending record amounts of cash on endless attack ads demonizing our Democratic candidates. Unfortunately, too many of them were taken by surprise when the barrage of vicious smears began — and never were able to regain their advantage.

But there’s a big difference between this year and last year: this year, we’re going to be prepared.

We set a goal to raise $25,000 by January 31, and we’ve already raised an incredible $15,246 from over 300 of you. We’re so close, but we only have a few more days to reach our goal.

Can you pitch in $10 right now to help us raise just $9,754 more before January 31? Each dollar you give helps us prepare to fight Rove and his corporate allies when they bring their campaign cash to our state.

One year later, we’ve learned what Citizens United means for Ohio. We need to prepare early. We need to be as strong as possible. We need to be ready to fight when the corporations march with Karl Rove into our state and throw every dollar they have at my campaign.

Help us get ready by contributing $10, $25, $50, or whatever you can afford right now — we need your help to reach our $25,000 goal by January 31.

Keep standing strong,

Sherrod
