Amended SB5 Could Face Vote Today
Youngstown Business Journal – YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Senate Bill 5 is moving toward a full vote, perhaps as early as today, even as the legislation's proponents and opponents continued to stake out their positions on the bill — and capitalize on the debate.
State Sen. Shannon Jones, R-7, Tuesday introduced an omnibus amendment to her original legislation that would restore limited collective bargaining rights for state employees, but prohibits strikes and adds a procedure giving elected officials the authority to decide contract disputes rather than a neutral third party.
