Brown Seeks to Extend Aid to Workers Displaced by Foreign Trade
Dayton Business Journal – On the heels of a new report that the U.S. has lost millions of jobs during the last decade because of a growing trade deficit with China, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown is asking Congress to extend aid to workers displaced by foreign trade.
The Senate is set to vote Tuesday afternoon on a trade bill passed by the House and Brown — along with U.S. Bob Casey, D-PA, and U.S. Sen. Max Baucus, D-MT — filed a substitute bill that includes an extension of trade adjustment assistance.
