Brown announces plan to keep gas prices from hitting $4 per gallon

Norwalk Reflector – With gas prices rapidly on the rise — more than 11 cents per gallon in Ohio over the last month alone and expected to reach $4.00 per gallon by the spring — U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced new plans for cracking down on oil speculation, which may be responsible in part for driving up prices at the pump.

Brown, who held a news conference at the True North station in Cleveland Heights, was joined by Mark Lyden, owner of the station and Vice Chairman of the Ohio Petroleum Marketers & Convenience Store Association. Ken Rapoport, an unemployed Ohioan whose search for new work is hindered by high gas prices, also joined Brown.
