Brown appointed to Senate committees, including agriculture, appropriations

Mansfield News-Journal – MANSFIELD — U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, has been assigned to serve on the agriculture, appropriations, banking, ethics and veterans committees in the Senate for the 112th Congress.

"My committee assignments allow me to fight for Ohio jobs, economic development and our state's largest industry — agriculture," Brown said. "After 12 straight months of private sector job creation, it's clear that our economy is beginning to rebound. But it's not nearly enough."

Brown served on the same committees during his previous four-year term.

The Mansfield Senior High School graduate was tapped for the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee in July 2010. He is only the seventh Ohioan to serve on this committee in its nearly 150-year history.
