Budget ax could hit children’s hospitals
Columbus Dispatch – Children's hospitals across Ohio would lose $32 million they use to train pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists if Congress approved President Barack Obama's proposed budget.
Among the many cuts in the $3.73 trillion budget is a proposal to eliminate the $318 million fund for children's hospitals' graduate medical education.
Nationwide Children's Hospital, which uses the money to help train about 220 pediatricians, pediatric subspecialists and dentists every year, stands to lose $8million a year.
