Cooper Will Receive Money From Research Grant

WFIN – Cooper Tire & Rubber is getting a share of a large research and development grant to make fuel efficient tires. U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown announced today that Cooper was awarded federal resources as part of the project. The Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy has awarded $1,500,000 to support Ohio-based R&D projects.

The money is expected to help improve fuel efficiency of the next generation of automobiles produced in the U.S. Senator Brown said in the release, “fuel efficient tires made in Ohio can help create a new generation of energy efficient vehicles made right here in the United States.” He added that investing in companies like Cooper can drive a new generation of smart economic growth.
