Democrat Brown to sit with Republican colleague at State of the Union
NBC 24 – WASHINGTON, D.C. — Sen. Sherrod Brown, (D-OH) will sit with his Republican colleague, freshman Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) during Tuesday night's State of the Union address.
Brown and Portman have invited the entire Ohio congressional delegation, dominated by Republicans, to join him and Sen. Portman.
"It's not the 'D' or the 'R' next to our names, but the 'OH' that is important," Brown said. "Rob and I may come from different parties, but we're both dedicated to creating jobs in Ohio. Sitting together at the State of the Union will demonstrate that we want to work together on a bipartisan basis to advance economic development in Ohio."
