ELECTION: Voters say no to Issue 2 by wide margin

Strong union opposition at the polls was one of the reasons Issue 2 was defeated Tuesday, according to unofficial results. With 99 percent of precincts reporting, 61 percent of voters favored repeal, while 39 percent voted to keep the law.
The ballot issue sought to seriously curtail collective bargaining rights of public employees, including teachers, police officers and firefighters.
