Feds award $16,750 grant to hire firefighters in Huron
Norwalk Reflector – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) today announced that $16,750 has been awarded to the Erie County Firefighters Association to hire and retain firefighters.
The fiscal year 2010 funds were awarded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Program in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration.
“First responders put their lives on the line every day across Ohio,” Brown said. “These funds will help ensure that the Erie County Firefighters Association has the resources needed to protect the residents and businesses of Erie County.”
