Fire departments awarded grants

The News-Messenger – WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, recently announced that the Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grants program has awarded $79,500 to the Lindsey Fire Department and $47,075 to the Woodville Township Fire Department.

Brown said first responders put their lives on the line every day across Ohio and that he wanted the Lindsey and Woodville fire departments to have the funds to ensure that firefighters have the personnel and resources they need to perform their jobs safely.
