Funds available for displaced workers at Solon plant
Hudson Hub Times – Approximately 80 displaced workers at Keithley Instruments of Solon are eligible to apply for worker adjustment assistance, according to U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown. Certification was approved by the U.S. Department of Labor.
“The loss of a job can be a devastating experience,” Brown said. “These resources will help ensure that displaced workers have the financial support and training opportunities to get a fresh start.”
Keithley Instruments produces electronic test and measurement equipment.
Earlier this year, it was reported that the company announced plans to move operations to China.
The Trade Adjustment Assistance program is a federal program that provides aid to workers who lose their jobs or whose work hours and wages are reduced as a result of increased imports.
