Hyper Tech Research receives federal grants
Columbus Dispatch – A Columbus manufacturer of superconductive wire will get $600,000 from a Department of Energy research and development program.
Hyper Tech Research Inc., located on the West Side, will use the money actually four separate $150,000 grants to develop new uses for its wire in medicine and advanced physics.
Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, announced the award today and noted that the money will come from a funding source that some lawmakers would like to see eliminated. A current proposal would scrap the program at the end of next month, which Brown opposes.
