Lake Erie restoration gets another $1 million boost in public-private restoration money

Plain Dealer – More good news for the restoration of Lake Erie.

Right on the heels of Thursday’s announcement that the House of Representatives had agreed to restore 2012 Great Lakes Restoration Initiative funding to the same $300 million level from this fiscal year, a public-private partnership announced a $1 million grant for Lake Erie-related cleanup.

U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown and the Sustain Our Great Lakes partnership today announced more than $1 million in public-private funds for Lake Erie restoration projects, according to a news release.

Partners in the program include ArcelorMittal, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, the orest Service, the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration and the National Fish & Wildlife Foundation.
