Legislation will make sure Ohioans have skills needed for jobs
Chillicothe Gazette – Editor, the Gazette:
Creative, high-tech jobs are integral to attracting the skilled workers needed to keep Ohio's economic recovery robust and vibrant.
Ohio already has an extensive bioscience industry, so it makes sense to build on this emerging industry. That is why I plan to reintroduce bipartisan legislation to make sure Ohioans have the skills needed to fill these new jobs.
The Strengthening Employment Clusters to Organize Regional Success Act could support the development of targeted work force training programs to meet the specialized needs of regional emerging industries. SECTORS would link technology industries with two-year colleges that train workers to push Ohio manufacturing forward.
This is one way we can continue to attract new jobs and grow Ohio's middle class.
