Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire District gets $268,934 in grant funds
Chillicothe Gazette – The Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire District has been awarded $268,934 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency and U.S. Fire Administration.
The money, awarded through the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response program, will be used to recruit and retain firefighters in Ross, Fayette and Highland counties where the district serves.
“First responders put their lives on the line every day across Ohio,” said U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown when announcing the grant award. “These funds will help ensure that the Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire Department has the adequate staffing needed to protect their communities.”
