Resolution honoring Shuttlesworth’s life clears Senate
FOX19 – A resolution authored by U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) honoring the life of Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth cleared the Senate unanimously on Thursday night.
Shuttlesworth, a civil rights activist, passed away earlier this week. He was 89.
Earlier this week, Brown announced that he would introduce a resolution to honor Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth, who survived multiple murder attempts during his participation in the Freedom Movement in the 1960s, including numerous bomb attacks on his home and church prior to moving to Cincinnati. He was pastor at Cincinnati’s Greater New Light Baptist Church.
