Schumer, Brown Denounce GOP’s Repeal Effort As “Hypocrisy”
The Talk Radio News Service – A Democratic Senate duo blasted Republican members of Congress today for keeping their federal health insurance while pursuing the full repeal of the Affordable Care Act.
“I don’t get the hypocrisy,” Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) said. “I find it amazing.”
Brown said that he has paid for his health insurance out-of-pocket since he took office as a member of the House in 1993 and added that, at the time, he pledged to do so until all Americans had access to insurance. Brown announced that as of last month, he now benefits from the federal insurance package available to member of Congress.
Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) joined Brown in a press conference with reporters where the duo expressed criticism of the continued push to repeal the bill.
