Sen. Sherrod Brown Tours Navistar Plant
Dayton Business Journal – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-OH, was in Springfield Thursday to tour the Navistar International plant, which is ramping up production and bringing back laid off workers.
Brown was joined by the company management and union leadership while he met with workers and toured the plant.
Last year, Navistar (NYSE: NAV) announced layoffs for Springfield workers and there was uncertainty about the Springfield plant’s future. Officials said Brown worked closely with the company, the United Auto Workers locals 402 and 658 and the Springfield community in their efforts to keep the plant open.
