Sen. Brown gets banking subcommittee chair
Columbus Business First – Democratic Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown has been named chairman of the financial institutions subcommittee of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Brown was named to the post Thursday afternoon and should get a formal OK by the full committee next week. Brown has been a major critic of the nation's largest banks, which he says have too much power, and was among those who felt last year's financial reform legislation should have been tougher.
