Sen. Brown of Ohio Comments on Senate Bill 5

WTRF – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, was quick to respond, not only to Wednesday's rally, but the proposal of taking collective bargaining away from state and local workers.

"When the bankers got their bailouts, people like to blame union workers from companies not doing well and too many politicians in Washington," said Brown. "When there's a problem with the state budget, they blame the teachers and firefighters and prison guards and clerks in the Social Security offices. I just doing get it. I believe they're in the right and I believe that everyone, that chooses to, can organize and bargain collectively. That's why we have a middle class."

Another rally, like the one in Columbus, also took place today in Wisconsin.
