The Plain Dealer – Washington — Sherrod Brown and financial institutions haven't always seen eye to eye. But they're about to see a lot more of one another, whether they like each other or not.
Brown, an Ohio Democrat, was named chairman this afternoon of the financial institutions subcommittee of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs. Formal approval is expected by the full committee next week.
This will put him in an influential spot as the industry asks to ease demands imposed by last year's Dodd-Frank financial reforms, which Brown supported
