Senator asks International Fiber to end OH lockout
Journal News – Sen. Sherrod Brown has sent a letter to International Fiber Corp. urging the company to end to its nearly month-long lockout of about 90 Ohio employees and resume contract negotiations.
The Springfield News-Sun reports that employees were locked out of the company’s Urbana plant on May 3 after management and employees failed to reach an agreement in contract talks. The last collective-bargaining agreement expired in February.
Brown said Wednesday that he sent a letter to the chief executive officer of the New York-based company. Brown told CEO Daniel Muth that failure to resolve the dispute could result in “devastating financial setbacks” for workers and their families and escalate tension in the southwest Ohio community.
