Senator: Democrats and Republicans Can Work Together
WYTV – Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown is weighing in on the aftermath of the Arizona shootings.
While making a stop in Boardman Friday, Brown said he hopes it will help tone down all the political rhetoric.
He says it is possible for Democrats and Republicans to work together in a non-partisan way…like they did during the so-called "lame duck" session of Congress late last month.
"We got food safety. We got a nuclear reduction of arms; a reduction of nuclear arms in Russia," explained Sen. Sherrod Brown, (D) Ohio. "We got an extension of unemployment benefits. We got a tax cut for the middle class. We were able to do a lot of things bipartisanly. I hope that spills over into the new year."
