Sheriff’s Office gets $400K-plus grant to battle sex offenders
Chronicle Telegram – The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office has received a $426,467 federal grant to combat sexual offenders who target children.
According to a news release, the Child Sexual Predator Program Grant is from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.
The grant money will run for two years and will fund a deputy, a prosecutor and any equipment needed to track, apprehend and prosecute child sexual offenders.
The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office is one of only 20 agencies nationwide that received this grant.
