Sherrod Brown’s last-minute holiday wish: Buy American gifts
Plain Dealer – Trade, taxes, unemployment. Congress has a lot on its plate, or would if the House and Senate could do more than trade insults.
With that in mind, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown of Ohio held a telephone news conference today. He focused largely on his disappointment over an appeals court ruling this week that restricts this country’s ability to impose duties on cheap Chinese imports. Congress could fix the problem with legislative language, the court noted, and Brown intends to pursue that remedy.
As he began the call, though, Brown had a short personal message for the reporters on the line:
“As you shop for your last-minute holiday gifts, try to buy American as much as you can, even though it’s obviously harder.”
