South Amherst fire gets $29,260 for department
The Morning Journal – SOUTH AMHERST — The South Amherst Fire Department was awarded $29,260 from the U.S Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters program, according to the office of Sen. Sherrod Brown.
The department was one of 15 fire departments awarded money from the grant, which totaled $1,165,969. They were also the only department in Lorain County to received the grant money.
The grants are awarded to fire departments and EMS organizations not directly affiliated with a hospital.
