Tax Credits Boost Local Manufacturer’s Hiring

Dayton Daily News – AcuTemp Thermal Systems, a local producer of insulated shipping products, made 50 temporary employees permanent and plans to bring on 50 more thanks to $900,000 in federal tax credits for clean energy supply chain companies, its chief executive said Monday.

Brian Kohr, AcuTemp CEO and president, said the credits also helped the company invest $3 million in new equipment for its 2900 Dryden Road plant.

Chris Meyer, co-founder of AcuTemp and vice president, energy programs for the Dayton Development Coalition, said the company was the only one in the Dayton area — and one of only seven in Ohio — to receive the credits, dubbed “48C” or the Advanced Energy Manufacturing Tax Credit.
