Columbus Dispatch: Brown Has Plenty Of Differences With Obama.  In a June 2011 column in the Columbus Dispatch, Jack Torry wrote “As next year’s election looms closer, the split is growing between President Barack Obama and Sen. Sherrod Brown. Brown Voted Against Cap And Trade Bill.  In June 2008, Senator Brown voted against a motion to invoke cloture (thus limiting debate) on the Boxer, D-Calif., substitute amendment no. 4825 that would cap greenhouse gas emissions nationwide and set up a trading system for companies to buy and sell emissions allowances. Well, lots of them, according to the 60 Plus Association.”  PolitiFact concluded:  “This statement was rated Barely True when it was published. U.S. Chamber’s Claim That “Seniors Will See $500 Billion In Medicare Cuts” Was Ruled “Mostly False.”  In May 2012, PolitiFact wrote “The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is going after Sen. Bill Nelson’s vote in favor of the federal health care law, saying in a new television ad that the law will ‘be a nightmare for Florida seniors.’  The ad includes a statement from Nelson supporting the health care law but interrupts Nelson to suggest his statement is inaccurate. Brown “Got It Right” On Environmental Regulations.  In a March 2011 editorial, The Cleveland Plain Dealer opined that Senator Brown “got it right in a recent letter urging President Barack Obama to slow the pace and narrow the scope of pending environmental regulations.
