Cleaning up the county; Lorain Port Authority gets $400,000 for brownfield sites

Morning Journal – The Lorain Port Authority will receive $400,000 to assess brownfield sites.

The money was announced through the Environmental Protection Agency’s Brownfields Assessment, Cleanup and Revolving Loan Fund Grants.

“Ohio’s brownfield sites can be opportunities for redevelopment and new growth,” said Sen. Sherrod Brown, who also announced the money. “These funds will help support assessment, cleanup and decontamination efforts critical for the safety and economic success of communities across the state, including Lorain County.”

The EPA has selected the Lorain Port Authority for two brownfields assessment grants of $200,000 each.
