FACT CHECK: Josh Mandel’s Ridiculous Attempt To Distract From His Opposition To The Auto Rescue

JOSH CLAIMS:  Sherrod Brown knowingly lied in his TV commercial about where the wheels for the Chevy Cruze are made.

THE TRUTH:  Sherrod knows the difference between the wheels on the Cruze and the Cruze Eco Model and his ad was speaking generally about how proud he is that so many parts for this best-selling car are made right here in Ohio. And without Sherrod’s support for the auto rescue, many more parts of that car would be made on foreign soil.

Sen. Brown Has Previously Noted The Aluminum Wheels Made In Cleveland Were On the Chevy Cruze Eco.  In a September 2011 op-ed in the Warren Tribune Chronicle, Senator Brown wrote “The Cruze epitomizes how central the auto industry is to Ohio. Not only is the car assembled right here in the Valley, but also features components made at plants all across Ohio: engine blocks manufactured in Defiance, transmissions assembled in Toledo and parts stamped in Parma.
