LTE: Senators united against Asian carp
The Dispatch – Ohio Sens. Rob Portman, a Republican, and Sherrod Brown, a Democrat, deserve a big thank-you for their leadership in helping to prevent Asian carp and other invasive species from entering the Great Lakes via the Mississippi River basin.
Portman authored the Stop Invasive Species Act, Senate Bill 2317, and Brown helped get a slightly-modified version passed out of committee. This is just the sort of bipartisan effort that Americans want and need.
