Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association Endorses Sherrod’s Reelection

Sen. Sherrod Brown released the following statement today on the endorsement of his reelection by the Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association:

“I am deeply humbled to receive the support of the brave patrolmen who make up the Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association. These men and women work long, tireless hours, putting their lives on the line each day to keep our communities safe, and I am fully committed to ensuring that we honor their service in every way possible.

“I was so proud to stand alongside Ohio’s patrolmen in the fight to stop Senate Bill 5, the politically-motivated and unfair assault on their rights to collectively bargain. And I will continue fighting in Washington to provide law enforcement officers with every tool they need to keep us safe, while honoring their service through laws like the National Blue Alert Act, which would protect officers who are injured or killed protecting others and provide them justice.

“Representing Ohio’s brave patrolmen is an honor that I will forever cherish. As long as I am so privileged to represent Ohio, I will continue fighting every day for the law enforcement officers who serve as role models to their communities and who keep us safe.”

The Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association represents more than 200 police departments and law enforcement agencies throughout Ohio including ranking officers and chiefs. Sherrod has also been endorsed by the Ohio Fraternal Order of Police, National Troopers Association and the Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters.
