Ohio senator proposes help for bio-based manufacturers
The Vindicator – YOUNGSTOWN — U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown announced an initiative he said will increase and expand the job market in Ohio.
The “Grow it Here, Make it Here” initiative would boost the bio-based products industry by increasing access to capital for manufacturers of bio-based products and further commercializing new agricultural innovations.
Bio-based products are those derived from renewable, or biological resources.
Brown, D-Avon, said his hope is that the new initiative would be integrated into the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Bill.
