Senator Sherrod Brown Completes Day 2 Of “Road To OhioJobs Tour” After Stops In Columbus, Zanesville and Yorkville

Seven Day Caravan Tour Of Made-in-Ohio Cars Continues Tomorrow

Today Senator Sherrod Brown continued his “Road To Ohio Jobs Tour” with stops in Columbus, Zanesville and completing day 2 of the tour in Yorkville. From Teamsters 413 Union Hall in Columbus, Sen. Brown & Columbus Mayor Mike Coleman rallied supporters and volunteers before they headed out to knock on doors for Brown’s campaign.

Sherrod was introduced by Iraq war Veteran Jeff Valentine, who struggled for 18 months to get assistance from the VA. After calling Sherrod’s office, his issues were resolved within a month.

“I want to thank you and your office from the bottom of my heart for what you have done for me,” said Iraq war Veteran Jeff Valentine. “I wish every other Veteran, citizen or just every person in general could have the experience with the Government that I have had with your office.”

After Columbus, the tour continued to Zanesville, where Sen. Brown was introduced by Windstream lineman Rick Lanthorn, and met with supporters and volunteers in Putnam Hill Park.

Day Two of the “Road To Ohio Jobs Tour” concluded with a rally in Yorkville with local supporters. From the Yorkville Fire Hall, Sen. Brown rallied with steelworkers and celebrated the recent sale of RG Steel to Esmark.

Steelworker Jack Baker said after RG Steel filed for bankruptcy in May, the future looked bleak, but Sherrod worked to help Esmark acquire RG Steel and now their jobs are coming back online.

“Our steel mill has been through many changes and appeared to be on its last leg,” said Steelworker Jack Baker. “It was terrifying not knowing if we would be able to make our next mortgage payment or our kids’ next doctor’s appointment. But Sherrod Brown refused to turn his back on us. I might not have a job if it hadn’t been for Sherrod Brown, and I’m proud tosupport him for re-election.”

The “Road To Ohio Jobs Tour” will take Sen. Brown to every corner of Ohio to talk about his work to fight for middle classjobs and his plans to continue growing the economy. The tour will travel in a caravan of made-in-Ohio Chevy Cruzes and Jeeps to highlight the importance of the auto rescue for Ohio’s economy and manufacturing comeback.
