Senator Sherrod Brown released a statement today applauding the announcement that Democrats will update their party’s platform to include a reference to Jerusalem being the capital of Israel:

“Today, delegates to the Democratic National Convention made the important move to reaffirm our belief that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. I’m committed to continuing my work in the Senate to maintain the unshakable bond between the United States and Israel in these most difficult times.  Support for Israel should transcend partisan politics and never be turned into a partisan issue.”
