Trumbull County Fire Department Gets $853,100 Grant
WKBN – The Girard Fire Department will receive close to $900,000 from the federal government to make a much needed equipment upgrade.
U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, announced on Wednesday that the Girard Fire Department was awarded the $853,100 Assistance to Firefighters Grant.
The money is coming from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA. Fire officials said they’ll use it to purchase a new 100-foot ladder truck to replace the department’s current ladder truck, which was built in 1972.
