VA clinic may be named for Pfc. David Winder
The Mansfield News Journal – U.S. Sens. Sherrod Brown and Rob Portman introduced legislation today to name the new Veterans Administration Community-Based Outpatient Clinic after Pfc. David F. Winder, a Mansfield native who was killed while serving in the Vietnam War.
Ground will be broken June 29 on the project at 1030 Marion Avenue Road.
“Private First Class Winder is one of the thousands of Ohioans that made the ultimate sacrifice while serving his country in the Vietnam War. He answered the call to service, and was mortally wounded while attempting to save the lives of his fellow soldiers,” said Brown, a Mansfield native.
