Cincinnati Enquirer: Sen. Brown joins bid to save murals
Uncle Sam might do some heavy lifting to save the nine old, endangered murals from Union Terminal.
Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) recently read about the plight of the at-risk mosaics in an Enquirer exclusive. He plans to help Cincinnati apply for federal funds and work with local businesses to bring these eight-ton works of art back home.
“These murals are representations of Cincinnati,” Brown said Friday. “When you see them, you see, first, the nameless people who built this country. Then you see the mural is about, say, Procter & Gamble.”
