U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, applauded a bill passed by the Senate Wednesday which he said would strengthen the state’s water commerce.

This year’s Water Resources Development Act outlines waterway maintenance and construction projects affecting many of the state’s harbors. It contains three amendments pushed by Brown to deal specifically with waterborne commerce.
