Logan Daily News: Sen. Brown works to fight childhood hunger
With poverty and food insecurity on the rise across Ohio, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D) is hoping to keep as many children as possible fed this summer.
“Middle class families who used to work and donate at food banks now find themselves on the other end,” Brown said in a conference call with reporters on Wednesday.
He added that the more than 815,000 children in Ohio who qualify for free and reduced school lunches will face worse problems during the summer months.
