Workforce development and re-energizing manufacturing are two things U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) told a group of business Monday at PAS Technologies in Hillsboro that he’s been working on for a long time to help revitalize the economy.

Brown said he made the stop in Hillsboro to see how he could help local businesses.

“I see part of my job as sitting down with groups of this size to see what kind of things we can do together,” Brown said before joining the group on a tour of PAS Technologies that was that was not open to the media. “…I’m really here for you.”

Brown said he’s working to see how he can better connect people with the job skills they need and on a plan where businesses and educational institutions can work with local communities to try to figure out how to re-energize manufacturing.
