Plain Dealer: Ohio’s small businesses drive record exports and Washington notices
CLEVELAND, Ohio — While exports represent big business for Ohio, it’s not big companies driving the lucrative trade. Small to medium-sized firms account for nearly 90 percent of Ohio’s exports, which have risen to record levels.
U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman, the top U.S. trade ambassador, made that point Thursday while on a visit to a Cleveland-area company with 32 employees and customers in 33 nations.
