In an honor more than 43 years overdue, an American soldier received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his service in Vietnam.

U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown presented seven service medals to James Edward Bond during a ceremony Tuesday morning at the Talbert House in Cincinnati.
