Snapchat’s ‘Good Luck America’ Highlights Sherrods ‘Relentless Focus On Working Class People,’ Contrasts Sherrod And Renacci On Opioids
A new episode of Snapchat’s “Good Luck America” out today profiles the Ohio Senate race and Sherrod’s “relentless focus on working class people and the issues they care about like wages, trade, and healthcare.”
Snapchat’s Peter Hamby notes that healthcare plays an outsize role in this race because of how hard the state has been hit by the opioid epidemic. The episode narrows in on a key contrast between Sherrod and his opponent: while Sherrod has defended the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid expansion, his opponent Congressman Jim Renacci opposes them. Sherrod understands the role Medicaid has played in responding to this crisis, while Congressman Renacci claims it hasn’t helped, and has voted repeatedly to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
