On Saturday, Sherrod took the stage for the second Ohio Senate debate with his opponent, multi-millionaire Congressman Jim Renacci.

Here were the main takeaways from the night—as told in tweets:

Even before the debate, supporters were excited to hear Sherrod’s message.

As the debate showed, Ohioans struggling as a result of the opioid crisis can count on Sherrod—not Renacci.

A reminder, @RepJimRenacci: Sherrod worked to secure $3 billion in additional funding to fight the opioid crisis.

But Congressman Renacci voted against key funding for prevention, treatment, and law enforcement efforts to address the crisis.

That’s because Renacci has voted against helping more Americans access the healthcare they deserve, including voting multiple times to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

But here are a few key things Renacci hasn’t voted to change: He hasn’t taken action to make sure guns don’t end up in the wrong hands.

And he remained silent when thousands of children were being separated from their families.
