Sen. Sherrod Brown Accepts Statewide NBC Affiliate/AARP Debate

Pending Negotiations And Mandel’s Acceptance, Debate Would Be Held October 25th In Columbus

Today, the Friends of Sherrod Brown campaign accepted an invitation from Ohio statewide NBC affiliates and the AARP to debate Josh Mandel in Columbus. Mandel’s campaign has recently repeated that he wishes to debate in Columbus and pending Mandel’s agreement to this debate and negotiations between the two campaigns, the debate would be held October 25th and broadcast statewide to viewers in the Cincinnati, Dayton, Steubenville, Cleveland, Lima, Youngstown, Columbus, Toledo and Zanesville markets.

“This debate will be broadcast across NBC affiliates statewide and offers millions of Ohioans across the state the chance to see Sherrod and Josh Mandel debate,” said Sadie Weiner, spokesperson for Friends of Sherrod Brown. “Sherrod looks forwarding to debating Josh Mandel in Columbus, and Ohioans eagerly anticipate the opportunity for Josh to explain his numerous anti-middle class positions and defend his decisions to hire unqualified political cronies in the Treasurer’s office, skip more than a year of billion-dollar investment meetings that he’s supposed to chair and accept shady campaign cash we now know is connected to an FBI probe.”
