This Week In The Ohio Senate Race: Josh Mandel Again Blasted For Surrounding Himself With Political Cronies In The Treasurer’s Office

Forced To Take To The Airwaves Following A Third Straight Week Of Negative Headlines

COLUMBUS, OHIO – For a third straight week Josh Mandel was blasted for not doing his job and showing Ohioans he can’t be trusted after his decision to go back on the central premise of his 2010 campaign and surrounded himself with unqualified political cronies in the Treasurer’s office. The latest shoe to drop in Mandel’s cronyism scandal was a report from the Toledo Blade that revealed Mandel favored his own appointees for “large raises.”

Plain Dealer – Mandel’s inconsistencies

“The antics of State Treasurer Josh Mandel, a Lyndhurst Republican, continue to set precedents in the annals of Ohio political hypocrisy, which, given Ohio’s history, is really saying something.”

Toledo Blade – Raises by Mandel draw criticism

“Josh Mandel, Ohio treasurer of state, has given his staff appointees large raises since he took office while awarding more modest raises to the employees he inherited when he became treasurer a year ago.”

Canton Repository – Dems, sue Mandel for public records

“The Dayton Daily News reported in late March that Mandel, who took office in January 2011, had hired “six campaign workers whose average age is 26 and assigned them duties ranging from debt management to policy-advising to community outreach.”

Akron Beacon Journal – How low will Josh Mandel go?

“At the rate he’s going, Republican U.S. Senate candidate and state treasurer Josh Mandel is on his way to reach new lows, quite an accomplishment in Ohio.”

Plunderbund – Mandel says he “always tells the truth”. In other news, pigs learn how to fly.

“In fact, it seems that if you hear Josh Mandel saying anything it may just be safer to believe the opposite of whatever he is talking about.”
