New Philadelphia Times Reporter – More than 10,000 Ohio seniors in Tuscarawas, Holmes, Carroll, Coshocton, Harrison and Columbiana counties participated in a tele-town hall with U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, Tuesday morning.

The call was the first in a series of tele-townhalls Brown will hold with constituents on a regional basis.

Youngstown Vindicator — Mildred Brooke of Boardman considers President Barack Obama’s warning that Social Security checks might be delayed next month “a little blackmail.”

“It’s just something to get those people in Washington, D.C., moving. I don’t really think it will happen,” said Brooke, 89, while bowling in a Senior Olympics event Wednesday at Camelot Lanes.
