Cindy notes that Sherrod “worked tirelessly” to pass the Butch Lewis Act named after an Ohio Teamster and “has a long history” of standing up for working Ohioans.

  • I am currently receiving a union pension in large part due to the tireless efforts of Sen. Brown.
  • In 2018, the senator co-chaired a congressional committee on the pension crisis and sponsored the Butch Lewis Act (later renamed the Butch Lewis Emergency Pension Plan Relief Act of 2021).
  • He then worked tirelessly to make sure this emergency act was included in the American Rescue Plan Act.
  • This law saved the pensions of more than 100,000 Ohioans, including mine.
  • Sherrod Brown has a long history of union support and of getting benefits for average Ohioans.
