Cleveland.com: Sen. Brown has spent years helping union members and saving their pensions, including mine
Cindy Adair – June 3, 2024
- I am currently receiving a union pension in large part due to the tireless efforts of Sen. Brown.
- In 2018, the senator co-chaired a congressional committee on the pension crisis and sponsored the Butch Lewis Act (later renamed the Butch Lewis Emergency Pension Plan Relief Act of 2021).
- He then worked tirelessly to make sure this emergency act was included in the American Rescue Plan Act.
- This law saved the pensions of more than 100,000 Ohioans, including mine.
- Sherrod Brown has a long history of union support and of getting benefits for average Ohioans.
